The Lookout - The beginning of a spring roundup
Mesa T Ranch operates over 32,000 acres located in Texas and Oklahoma. The ranch is family owned and operated. The Thorpe's run a cow/calf operation as well as stockers and quarter horses.....a good horse is important in the everyday workings of the ranch.

The Final Gathering
The Mesa T Ranch is currently running two stallions: Leo Blue Hancock and MT Rowdy Rip Hancock. Both stallions can be found on the "Stallions" web page with pictures and pedigrees. In choosing our stallions, we looked for a good using horse that is above average in agility, disposition, and cow work, plus the added bonus of color.
Leo Blue Hancock, "Blue", is a grandson of Blue Valentine with Leo Hancock Hayes, Blue Valentine, Rip Rip, and Hancocks Blue Boy all on his papers, and he has that beautiful cowboy color. Blue is homozygous roan, meaning everyone one of his foals will be roan! He is also homozygous black with no bay gene - so he will have blue roans or bay roans (if the mare has a bay gene) everytime! Foals can be found on the "Sale Barn" page.
MT Rowdy Rip Hancock is also homozygous black and is 41% Blue Valentine. He puts both Blue Valentine and Rowdy Blue Man on his babies papers. He is 93% NFQHA foundation. Rowdy's foals can also be found on our "Sale Barn" page.
Hickory San Cody, a Peppy San Badger-bred gray stallion, passed on in 2010. While he will be greatly missed, his progeny will live on at the Mesa T Ranch. We have many broodmares by Cody and we are currently riding several of his foals on the ranch.
